Developing Downstream Industry, Palm Oil Company Expects Assistance from NGC

PEKANBARU – From now, Riau Province is being intensively developing non-oil downstream business, that’s why local palm oil company expects that National Gas Company (NGC) supplies gas to Dumai immediately.

“The gas supply is needed as the alternative electricity power supply that is still limited to date,” stated Rusdi, Head Section of Promoting and Marketing Agricultural Products of Agriculture Agency of Riau Province, on Tuesday (09/12/2014), as cited by Antara.

He said, the efforts in developing palm oil downstream industry is very potential in Dumai, Riau Province, it have been operated 13 crude palm oil producer industries in Riau and the downstream industry is less than it.

He added, to date, CPO has more than 40s of its derivatives such are cocmetics, butter, shortening, vegetable ghee, ice cream, bakery fats, instant noodle, soap and detergent, cocoa butter extender, chocolate and coatings, and many others. (T3)
