BANGKO – Plantation and Forestry Agency, Merangin gave subsidized palm oil seeds to the farmers in 2014 by considering the importance of the superior seeds for the progress of palm oil plantations.But for the limitation, each farmer got 250 stalks.
Head of Plantation and Forestry Agency Merangin, through Head of Production, Masdivia explained, the farmers having the seeds will not be given in the next year. The seeds will be for them who do not get the seeds yet. The seeds are subsidized from the regional budget 2014 but will be given next year.
“The seeds will be productive for the next 25 years. In general, the seeds will not be productive after 10 years old,” he said as quoted from InfoJambi, Tuesday, (17/6/2014). (T3)
