InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – Indonesia’s crude palm oil (CPO) market came under pressure on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, as the KPBN Inacom CPO price declined while palm oil futures in Malaysia extended their losses.
The CPO price at PT Kharisma Pemasaran Bersama Nusantara (KPBN) Inacom was set at IDR 15,900 per kilogram, down IDR 57 per kilogram, or around 0.36 percent, from the highest bid of IDR 15,957 per kilogram recorded on Tuesday, September 8.
Information obtained by InfoSAWIT from KPBN showed that the Franco Dumai CPO price was fixed at IDR 15,900 per kilogram. Meanwhile, the FOB Talang Duku offer opened at IDR 15,650 per kilogram but was withdrawn, with the highest bid recorded at IDR 15,602 per kilogram.
A similar situation occurred at Franco Teluk Bayur. The offer was opened at IDR 15,700 per kilogram before being withdrawn, while the highest bid reached IDR 15,506 per kilogram.
The weakness in Indonesia's physical CPO market came alongside another decline in Malaysian palm oil futures.
CPO futures on the Bursa Malaysia Derivatives Exchange fell for a second consecutive trading session on Wednesday, pressured by profit-taking among market participants. However, concerns over the potential impact of El Niño on palm oil production continued to provide some support to prices.
The benchmark Malaysian CPO contract for November 2026 delivery closed RM9 lower, or 0.18 percent, at RM4,967 per metric ton.
Movements in competing vegetable oils also weighed on the palm oil market. The most-active soybean oil contract on the Dalian Commodity Exchange fell 0.73 percent, while Dalian palm oil declined 1.09 percent. In contrast, soybean oil futures on the Chicago Board of Trade gained 0.35 percent.
