INFOSAWIT, JAKARTA – Indonesia’s crude palm oil (CPO) price set by PT Kharisma Pemasaran Bersama Nusantara (KPBN) rose on Friday, August 28, 2026, while Malaysian palm oil futures also strengthened amid gains in rival vegetable oils and concerns over future production.
KPBN set the CPO price at Rp15,800 per kilogram, up Rp92 per kg, or 0.59%, from the highest bid of Rp15,708 per kg recorded on Thursday, August 27.
According to information received by InfoSAWIT from KPBN, the CPO price at Franco Dumai was set at Rp15,800 per kg.
At FOB Talang Duku, the opening price was Rp15,550 per kg before the tender was withdrawn, with the highest bid reaching Rp15,385 per kg. At Franco Teluk Bayur, the CPO price opened at Rp15,600 per kg before being withdrawn at a highest bid of Rp15,425 per kg.
Malaysian CPO Futures Gain
Malaysian palm oil futures also moved higher on Friday. The benchmark November 2026 CPO contract on the Bursa Malaysia Derivatives Exchange gained RM43 per metric ton, or 0.89%, to RM4,859 per ton at midday.
The rise was supported by stronger soybean oil prices and growing concerns about the outlook for palm oil production in the coming months.
Despite Friday’s rebound, Malaysian palm oil futures remained under pressure over the week. The benchmark contract was down approximately 3.41% for the week, putting it on course to end a three-week winning streak.
Rival vegetable oils provided additional support. The most-active soybean oil contract on the Dalian Commodity Exchange rose 1.27%, while Dalian palm oil futures gained 0.49%. Soybean oil prices on the Chicago Board of Trade also climbed 2.31%.
