JAKARTA –Professor of Economy from Riau University, Almasdisaid, palm oil plantations in Riau develop fast. In 2013, for example, the area has been 2,3 millions hectares within the fruit production about more than 43 millions of tons. The people’s plantations reached about 56%.
“Palm oil factories operating in Riau reached about 172 units within the capacity about 7.800 tons per hour or 37.440.000 tons per year,” he explained to Go Riau, Sunday (29/3).
He thought, knowing the condition, all fruit could not be processed in the relative short time. Of course, the abundant fruit stock will effect to the additional values which the farmers will get for they keep facing the monopsony markets. (T3)
