InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – Crude palm oil (CPO) prices at PT Kharisma Pemasaran Bersama Nusantara (KPBN) were recorded as withdrawn (WD) on Friday (April 10, 2026), with the highest bid reaching Rp15,589/kg. This marks a decline of Rp189/kg, or حوالي 1.2%, compared to Thursday’s (April 9, 2026) highest bid of Rp16,778/kg.
According to information obtained by InfoSAWIT from KPBN, the Franco Dumai CPO price opened at Rp15,730/kg but was later withdrawn, with the highest bid at Rp15,589/kg. Meanwhile, the FOB Talang Duku price opened at Rp15,530/kg and was also withdrawn, with the highest bid recorded at Rp15,392/kg.
CPO trading on the Bursa Malaysia Derivatives Exchange came under sharp pressure at the close of trading on Friday (April 10, 2026), snapping a five-week rally.
Quote Reuters, the benchmark June 2026 CPO contract fell by RM108 per ton, or 2.33%, to RM4,535 per ton (approximately US$1,144.05). The weekly decline reached 6.28%, marking the steepest drop in nearly 16 months.
The downturn was driven by concerns that rising production during the peak months of April to June could outpace global demand, particularly amid the ongoing Middle East conflict, which has weighed on consumption and increased logistics costs.
Despite this, Malaysia’s palm oil inventories fell for a third consecutive month in March 2026, reaching a seven-month low due to stronger exports that offset a modest rise in production. However, market participants believe this was insufficient to support prices in the short term.
Cargo surveyor data showed that Malaysian palm oil exports for April 1–10 declined significantly, ranging between 30.7% and 38.9% compared to the previous period, reinforcing concerns over weakening global demand amid economic and geopolitical uncertainties.
Global Vegetable Oil Market Mixed
Meanwhile, other vegetable oil markets showed mixed movements. The most active soyoil contract on the Dalian exchange rose 0.4%, while its palm oil contract edged up 0.11%. In contrast, soyoil prices on the Chicago Board of Trade fell by 0.87%.
