InfoSAWIT, SÃO PAULO – Brazil’s soybean harvest for the 2025/26 season has accelerated, reaching 16% of planted area last week. The figure marks a six-percentage-point increase from the previous week and slightly surpasses last year’s pace.

According to Reuters, as published online by InfoSAWIT, agribusiness consultancy AgRural reported that harvesting remains concentrated in Mato Grosso, the country’s leading soybean state.

Farmers there have taken advantage of short dry intervals between heavy rains to sustain field operations. Despite weather disruptions, progress has continued at a steady rhythm.

In contrast, southern states such as Mato Grosso do Sul and Rio Grande do Sul face concerns over heat and dryness that could affect crop yields if prolonged.

Meanwhile, second-crop corn planting reached 22%, slightly ahead of last year, while the first-crop corn harvest advanced to 15%, reflecting a comparatively stronger early-season performance. (T2)
