InfoSAWIT, BENAI — Before the sun fully rose, dozens of children accompanied by their parents and elderly residents had already gathered at the PN-1 Sei Kuko Polyclinic yard in Benai, Kuantan Singingi, Riau. The early-morning scene marked the closing of a series of events commemorating the first anniversary of Agrinas Palma Nusantara Regional I Riau on Saturday (31/1/2026).
The closing activities featured mass circumcision services, free health checks for elderly residents, and a community market, drawing a positive response from local communities. The social programs, which began on Friday (30/1/2026), reflected a strong sense of solidarity and social care.
In his remarks, General Manager of District IV Regional Office-1 Riau, Brig. Gen. (Ret.) Carlan Effendy, emphasized the importance of smooth implementation as an expression of gratitude and the company’s intention to deliver tangible benefits to surrounding communities.
“May Allah SWT always grant blessings, smoothness, and goodwill from our leadership so that we can express gratitude together,” he said, as quoted in an official statement published by InfoSAWIT on Sunday (1/2/2026).
The social outreach followed ceremonial anniversary events held a day earlier, which included the planting of 1,000 trees and the organization of a community market. The anniversary program was organized by the company’s TJSL and ESG Division and attended by the General Manager of TJSL and ESG Division, Gatut Mukti Wirawan, underscoring the company’s commitment to sustainable development and social responsibility.
A warm and cooperative atmosphere prevailed throughout the activities. Parents accompanied their children, while medical personnel attended to elderly residents undergoing health examinations. Among the children participating in the mass circumcision was nine-year-old Aidan, who jokingly teased an older friend.
“I’m braver, even though I’m only in third grade,” he said with a laugh, prompting smiles from waiting mothers.
Parents expressed gratitude for the program. “If we arranged circumcision independently, we would have to pay hundreds of thousands of rupiah and travel to a clinic in the city,” said Despirianti, Aidan’s mother.
Similar enthusiasm was seen at Cerenti-1 Estate, where social services at the Central Plasma Division II were combined with a subsidized community market. Basic food packages consisting of rice, cooking oil, and sugar were sold at less than half the market price.
The day before, the company’s first anniversary ceremony was held at SMK Negeri 1 Sentajo Raya, attended by hundreds of residents, students, traditional and religious leaders, security forces, and regional government officials. The celebration was announced from the outset as being integrated with large-scale social initiatives, including assistance for 100 orphans, tree planting, subsidized food distribution, mass circumcision, and free health services.
In his address, Head of Agrinas Palma Nusantara Sumatra Region Djoko Andoko stressed that sustainable palm oil should no longer be measured solely by production volumes.
“In integrating productivity, business responsibility, and social commitment, we believe sustainable palm oil is not only about output, but about values upheld, environments protected, and communities empowered,” he said.
The anniversary concluded with tree planting along a riverbank and continued social services at multiple locations. From Benai, the message was clear: state-managed palm oil is expected to serve not only as an energy source, but also as a foundation for community welfare. (T1)
