InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – The price of crude palm oil (CPO) at PT Kharisma Pemasaran Bersama Nusantara (KPBN) was set at Rp 14,215/kg on Tuesday (16/12/2025). As a result, CPO prices fell by Rp 35/kg, or about 0.25%, compared with Monday (15/12/2025), when prices reached Rp 14,250/kg.
Based on information obtained by InfoSAWIT from KPBN, the CPO Franco Dumai price was set at Rp 14,215/kg. The Loco Pelahari CPO price opened at Rp 13,661/kg; however, a withdrawal (WD) occurred, with the highest bid recorded at Rp 13,167/kg.
Meanwhile, as reported by Bloomberg, crude palm oil (CPO) futures prices on the Malaysian Exchange came under renewed pressure and fell below RM 4,000 per ton, touching their lowest level in nearly the past three weeks. This weakness occurred alongside declining soybean oil prices in the global market and weak Malaysian export performance in the first half of December.
The main pressure came from soybean oil, which is palm oil’s closest competitor in the food and energy markets. In Monday’s trading, soybean oil prices closed down 1.2%, extending a three-day consecutive decline. Soybean prices also weakened by up to 0.9%, hitting their lowest level in more than six weeks.
Market participants are still closely monitoring demand developments from China, particularly regarding the country’s commitment to purchase around 12 million tons of U.S. soybeans by year-end. Uncertainty over the realization of this target has caused the vegetable oil market to move cautiously and tend to weaken.
In addition to external factors, palm oil prices are also weighed down by weak physical demand. Data from Intertek Testing Services show that Malaysian palm oil exports during the period of December 1–15 fell by around 16% compared with the previous month. This decline has reinforced negative sentiment in the market, given that Malaysia is one of the world’s largest palm oil producers and exporters.
