InfoSAWIT, YOGYAKARTA — A warm, proud atmosphere filled the Grha INSTIPER auditorium on Saturday (8 November 2025) as the Stiper Agricultural Institute (INSTIPER) held its 85th Undergraduate and 31st Postgraduate Graduation Ceremony. A total of 374 graduates were inaugurated — 20 Master’s in Plantation Management and 354 Bachelor’s from the Faculties of Agriculture, Agricultural Technology, and Forestry.
Interestingly, 20% of graduates had already secured employment less than a month after their final examinations — highlighting INSTIPER’s strong relevance and ties with the plantation and forestry industries.
“The average waiting time for our graduates is less than six months,” said Dr. Ir. Harsawardana, M.Eng., Rector of INSTIPER. He emphasized that the university, founded in 1958, continuously updates its curriculum and collaborates with strategic companies to ensure its teaching aligns with industry dynamics.
The collaboration has narrowed the gap between theory and practice. “We want our students not only to be job-ready but also adaptable and capable of leading change,” he added.
INSTIPER also attracts experienced professionals — several of this year’s postgraduate graduates are plantation managers and estate heads seeking to deepen their knowledge and expand professional networks.
A total of 102 graduates (27%) achieved Cum Laude honors, including 11 recipients of the KIP College Scholarship. The best undergraduate title went to Muhammad Tito Dika Baktiyar, S.P., with a GPA of 3.97, while Hanjaya, S.P., M.Si. earned the top postgraduate award with a perfect GPA of 4.00; he currently serves as Estate Head at PT Menthobi Makmur Lestari.
Tito, a student from Aceh and son of an army officer, described his time at INSTIPER as life-changing: “Here, I learned not only about agriculture but also about perseverance, teamwork, and responsibility,” he said.
INSTIPER remains committed to producing graduates ready to contribute to sustainable plantation development, fulfilling its founders’ vision to cultivate leaders who are not only skilled professionals but also socially and environmentally conscious. (T2)
