JAKARTA – The partnership pattern which the Government has regulated, according to Chairman of Palm Oil Farmers Union, Mansuetos Darto, is not fair enough because it is run by one rule service. The point is that, the company itself rules the palm oil farmers.
He explained, what the farmers hope is to run cooperation. This means, though the cooperation has no modal, but it has access to the banks so that the farmers could be the subjects to enlarge plantation. “And they can sell their production in the form of oil,” he recently said in Jakarta.
Beside that, he also criticized the partnership programme which is in the Regulation of Plantation No. 39 / 2014, article 57 and 58 – the farmers just cultivate 20% of their area while the company cultivates 80% of theirs.
He thought, the farmers need justice like what the former President, Soeharto once run in the Regulation of Secretary of Agriculture No 339 / 1976 which regulated that the farmers could cultivate 60% of their area while the company could cultivate 40%. “But as time runs, 20% are for the farmers while the rests are for the company,” he said.
