PEKANBARU – Indonesian Businessmen Association (IBA) asked the government to protect the Industrial Plantation Forest (IPH) and national palm oil plantations from the foreign non government organizations (NGOs) which vocalize the negative issues to the two kinds of industries.
Chairman of Advisory Board, IBA, Sofjan Wanandi said, the government should be strict to implement the policy. “Do not be provocated by the foreign NGO, such as, Greenpeace,” he said in the press conference in Pekanbaru, Thursday (26/2) as quoted from Sindo.
He hoped, in handling some problems relating to the industries and environment, the government should be wiser and not be pro to some certain groups interests.
Beside that, the joint of Ministry of Forestry and Environment should be giving enrichment to realize better environment and do not disturb the investment. The industries should also be oblidged to manage and run the sustainable forest. (T3)
