JAKARTA – Secretary of Trade, Rachmat Gobel said, the exports in January 2015 reached US$ 13,3 billions or (decreased 8,1% YoY), while the imports reached US$ 12,6 billions (decreased 6% YoY). So the trade balance was surplus US$ 709,4 millions, it is better than the trade balance in January last year which was deficit US$ 443,9 millions.
He explained, the trade balance surplus in January 2015 was happening for the increasing non oil and gas sectors about US$ 748,0 millions.
The deficit oil and gas sectors reached US$ 38,6 millions than the same sectors in the previous months. “The trade balance in January 2015 was better than the other months which were deficit,” he said in the press conference in Jakarta (17/2).
He continued, the agricultural products had good surplus which increased 8,9% to be US$ 0,4 billions.
The agricultural sector significantly increased than them in January 2014, such as, crude palm oil increased 7,1%, tea and spices increased 56%, and cocoa did too about 17,6%. (T3)
