JAKARTA – What the government plans to diverse (fossil) fuel to vegetable  fuel (VF) is criticized by environmental non government organization (NGO), that is, Wahana Lingkungan Hidup Indonesia (Walhi).

Forest and Plantation Campaign Manager, Walhi, Zenzi Suhadi in his press release, quoted from Antara, Tuesday (10/2) said, the government has provided the vast areas to palm oil companies because the government needs investment and the government could not cultivate the areas.

“The government spent money to become the CPO constant buyer by diversing subsidy. The additional allocation for VF about  Rp 14,31 billions from the State Budget in 2015 about Rp 3,09 billions in the Plan State Budget 2015 – the changes about Rp 17,40 billion gives the pseudo-profit for the government. The government wants to reduce the allocation to fossil fuel about Rp 20 billions but the government itself spends money to buy biodiesel and bioethanol about Rp 17,40 billions,” he said.

Zenzi thought, in the fairness on the land mastering context, the allocation will increase the crime to cultivate the area where the people could have change status – from the owner to be the worker – it depends on the palm oil companies.

The allocation, he continued, is contradictive to the main goal of Nawa Cita and The Government Plans which make the people independent. “The money from the diversion of VF to buy CPO could be said that the government is using the  people’s money to fund the robbing process of the people’s rights on their land and environment,” he explained.
