PEKANABARU - Lembaga Adat Melayu (LAM) Riau thought, the Regulation No. 71 / 2014 about the Management and Protection of Wetland Ecosystem is to protect the foreigner political trade, especially for crude palm oil and pulp and paper industry.

“ In the international industries, what runs is the political trade. Name, trade or topic could be various but the point is that the interest in the political trade,” Chairman of Majelis Kerapatan Adat LAM, Riau, Tenas Effendy said in Pekanbaru, Monday (9/2).

He continued as quoted from Antara Riau, the government should study more before the Regulation runs for it derives from the Regulation No 32 / 2009 about the Protectiona and Management of Environment.

Until now, according to Forestry Agency, Riau Province,  there are about 1 million hectare wetland in Riau and they have been cultivated to be industrial plantation forest, 0,8 million hectare becomes palm oil plantation and 0,5 million hectare become the agricultural area and other plantations.
