JAKARTA – The areal conflicts between the company and the farmers have not solutions yet from the government as the regulator.

Executive Director of Sawit Watch, Jefri Gideon Saragih said, the conflicts keep happening for the company doesnot keeps the agreements with the people or the plasma farmers. Beside that, there are some regulations which are taken as the losts for the farmers.

Before 2010 when the conflicts happened, the company always had problems with the indigenous people. “But now, the conflicts happen between the company and the plasma farmers who become the partners of the company,” Jefri said when being contacted by InfoSAWIT, Tuesday (10/2)

He thought, these happen for the company does not keep the agreements made. Beside that, the company’s not transparent to the plasma farmers, may be about the credit loans from the banks and the numbers to use. “It can be said that the economic factor could be the trigger,” he explained.

In the future, he hoped, palm oil companies operating in Indonesia should fulfill their promises, transparent, and wiser to determine the area. (T3)
