InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – Bumitama Gunajaya Agro (BGA Group) is expanding its employee appreciation program by giving 46 workers the opportunity to perform Umrah in Saudi Arabia this year.
The participants come from different functions and levels within the company, reflecting the range of roles involved in supporting Bumitama's plantation operations.
According to an official statement received by InfoSAWIT on Friday (October 2, 2026), the group comprises 25 employees from Central Kalimantan and 21 from West Kalimantan.
The participants include employees working as staff, harvesters and supervisors. The program is intended to recognize employees who have demonstrated performance and commitment in carrying out their responsibilities.
For Bumitama, the initiative represents an appreciation of the people whose daily work contributes to the company's operations.
Program Enters Its Fifth Year
Bumitama's Umrah appreciation program has now entered its fifth year and has expanded its coverage to include employees from a wider range of functions.
In previous years, the program focused more heavily on certain operational roles. This year, employees involved in mechanization and supervision are also among those receiving the opportunity.
Bumitama Human Capital Director Agus Sutrisno said the company's achievements should not be measured solely by business performance, but also by the benefits generated for employees.
“Blessings are not only about receiving, but also about how those blessings can continue to spread and benefit others,” Agus said.
He added that when the company achieves success, it hopes employees can also experience the benefits.
Meanwhile, Bumitama Managing Director of Operations M. Zazali said expanding the program was part of the company's effort to recognize employees across different operational functions.
“Hopefully, this opportunity will become a memorable experience. We hope that in the future more employees will have the same opportunity,” Zazali said.
For the employees selected this year, the Umrah journey represents more than an appreciation program. It also provides a personal experience after years of contributing to the company's operations across plantation areas in Kalimantan. (T2)
