InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – The crude palm oil (CPO) price set by PT Kharisma Pemasaran Bersama Nusantara (KPBN Inacom) edged lower on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, as palm oil futures in Malaysia extended their decline amid expectations of higher inventories and weaker exports.
KPBN Inacom set the CPO price at Rp15,050 per kilogram, down Rp25/kg, or around 0.17%, from Rp15,075/kg on Monday. At Franco Belawan, the price was also set at Rp15,050/kg. Meanwhile, FOB Talang Duku opened at Rp14,800/kg and Franco Teluk Bayur was set at Rp14,710/kg.
The weakness was also reflected in Malaysia's futures market, where CPO prices fell for a third consecutive session. The benchmark contract moved to its lowest level in eight weeks as traders assessed softer competing vegetable oils and expectations of higher Malaysian palm oil stocks in September.
According to Reuters, the December 2026 CPO contract fell RM35 per ton, or about 0.75%, to RM4,629 per ton by the midday break on the Bursa Malaysia Derivatives Exchange.
Exports Add Pressure
Malaysia's palm oil exports also became a key market concern. Data from cargo surveyors Intertek Testing Services and AmSpec Agri Malaysia indicated that Malaysian palm oil product exports during September 1–25 were estimated to have declined between 15.1% and 24.3% from the previous month's comparable period.
Lower exports came as Malaysian palm oil production remained relatively high. Stocks had already risen to an eight-month high at the end of August, raising concerns that weaker shipments could keep inventories elevated.
The broader vegetable oil market also weighed on sentiment. Dalian's most-active soybean oil contract declined 0.23%, while Dalian palm oil fell 1.04%. Chicago Board of Trade soybean oil, however, gained 0.72%.
