One Week Left: Indonesia's 2026 Palm Oil Scholarship Program Nears Registration Deadline

InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – The window of opportunity for young Indonesians to pursue higher education through the 2026 Palm Oil Human Resources Development Scholarship Program (SDMP) is rapidly closing, with registration set to end on 20 June 2026.

Jointly organized by the Directorate General of Estates under the Ministry of Agriculture and the Palm Oil Plantation Fund Management Agency (BPDP), the program aims to prepare a new generation of skilled professionals to support the sustainability and competitiveness of Indonesia's palm oil industry.

Under the national scheme, 5,000 scholarship recipients will be selected to pursue vocational and academic studies related to the palm oil sector.

According to Official Announcement Number 718/SM.220/E.4/05/2026, applications opened on 3 June 2026 and will close on 20 June 2026. Interested applicants can register online through the official portal.

The scholarship is open not only to the children of oil palm smallholders and plantation workers, but also to the children of palm oil mill employees and civil servants who own oil palm plantations.

Erico Febriandi, Scholarship Verifier for Bangka Belitung Province, said the initiative was designed to expand access to education while strengthening the quality of human resources in the plantation sector.

"This scholarship represents the government's commitment to ensuring the long-term sustainability of Indonesia's palm oil industry by developing competent and innovative young professionals," he said.

Recipients will benefit from full tuition coverage, monthly allowances, book assistance, transportation support, graduation expenses, internship opportunities in palm oil companies, and competency certification upon completion of their studies.

Prospective applicants who meet the eligibility requirements are encouraged to submit their applications before the deadline.

"While there is still time, we encourage eligible candidates to apply," Erico added. (T2)
