West Sumatra Palm Oil FFB Prices Fall Rp23.4/kg in Third Period of May 2026

InfoSAWIT, PADANG – Fresh fruit bunch (FFB) prices for palm oil in West Sumatra Province declined during the third pricing period of May 2026, reflecting weaker conditions in the downstream palm oil market and ongoing volatility in global vegetable oil prices.

Based on the agreement reached by the West Sumatra Provincial FFB Pricing Team for the May 15–21, 2026 period, the FFB price for oil palm trees aged 10–20 years was set at Rp3,998.76 per kilogram, down Rp23.4/kg from the previous period.

According to data obtained by InfoSAWIT from the West Sumatra Plantation, Food Crops, and Horticulture Agency, FFB prices varied according to plantation age. Palm trees aged three years were priced at Rp3,122.59/kg, while four-year-old trees stood at Rp3,304.39/kg. Trees aged five to eight years ranged between Rp3,503.18/kg and Rp3,905.45/kg.

Meanwhile, nine-year-old plantations were priced at Rp3,985.71/kg, and plantations aged 21 years and above ranged from Rp3,838.04/kg to Rp3,564.53/kg depending on tree maturity.

The provincial pricing team also set the reference crude palm oil (CPO) price at Rp15,102.06/kg and kernel price at Rp15,310.16/kg, while shell prices were recorded at Rp17.75/kg with a K index of 94.34%.

The provincial government emphasized that the published figures serve as official benchmark prices based on the local plantation agency’s calculations. Actual prices received by farmers in the field may vary depending on location, quality, and mill purchasing policies. (T2)
