InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – Indonesian Attorney General ST Burhanuddin announced that the government has successfully recovered Rp10.2 trillion through follow-up actions under the Forest Area Enforcement Task Force (Satgas PKH), as part of the national crackdown on illegal control of forest areas linked to oil palm plantations and mining operations.
Speaking during the official handover of administrative fines and reclaimed forest land monitored by InfoSAWIT on Wednesday (May 13, 2026), Burhanuddin stated that the recovered funds demonstrate the government’s commitment to transparency and accountability in enforcing forestry regulations.
“Rp3.4 trillion originated from forestry administrative fines collected by Satgas PKH, while Rp6.8 trillion came from the recovery and transfer of forest land areas,” Burhanuddin explained.
He revealed that from February 2025 to May 2026, the task force managed to reclaim approximately 5.8 million hectares of forest land previously controlled for oil palm plantation and mining activities. In addition, another 12,371.58 hectares of forest land deemed inconsistent with legal regulations were also successfully repossessed by the state.
According to Burhanuddin, the recovered land will later be transferred to relevant ministries and state institutions, coordinated through the Ministry of Finance and the Government Investment Agency (BIP), before eventually being managed by PT Agrinas Palma Nusantara.
During the seventh phase of land transfer, PT Agrinas Palma Nusantara received an additional 2.3 million hectares of forest areas. The handover included revoked concession permits covering 733,180 hectares from 29 legal entities, along with revoked forest utilization permits spanning 1,045,219 hectares from 22 entities.
“Up to the seventh phase, PT Agrinas Palma Nusantara has received approximately 4.1 million hectares of reclaimed forest areas,” Burhanuddin stated.
He emphasized that the forest area enforcement initiative is not merely ceremonial, but forms part of the government’s broader effort to safeguard national natural resources and prevent state revenue leakage.
Burhanuddin further stressed that illegal exploitation of Indonesia’s natural wealth, including capital flight abroad, would no longer be tolerated. The government, he said, remains committed to ensuring the country’s natural resources are managed for the prosperity of the Indonesian people.
He also praised Satgas PKH officials for their dedication in protecting forest sovereignty and securing state assets from unlawful control. (T2)
