BPDP Approves 42 Educational Institutions for 2026 Plantation Human Resources Development Program

InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – Indonesia’s Plantation Fund Management Agency (BPDP) has officially approved 42 educational institutions to participate in the 2026 Plantation Human Resources Development Education Program, reinforcing the government’s efforts to strengthen workforce capacity in the plantation sector, particularly the palm oil industry.

The announcement was formalized through Official Notice Number PENG-3/BPDP/2026 issued on May 11, 2026. The initiative is designed to support vocational and academic education programs aimed at producing skilled and industry-ready professionals for the national plantation sector.

BPDP stated that all selected institutions had passed proposal evaluations and administrative assessments conducted under guidelines established by the agency’s President Director.

The approved institutions come from various regions across Indonesia, including Sumatra, Java, Kalimantan, and Sulawesi. The study programs accepted under the scheme cover a wide range of disciplines such as agribusiness, agrotechnology, oil palm cultivation, plantation product processing technology, mechanical engineering, and industrial engineering technology.

Among the institutions selected are INSTIPER Yogyakarta, Citra Widya Edukasi Oil Palm Polytechnic, Indonesian Oil Palm Technology Institute, LPP Yogyakarta Polytechnic, Hasanuddin University, Jambi University, and Samarinda State Agricultural Polytechnic.

In addition to undergraduate programs, BPDP is also expanding support for vocational education ranging from diploma levels D1 to D4, highlighting the government’s commitment to producing technically skilled manpower aligned with the operational needs of Indonesia’s palm oil industry.

The most represented study programs in the selection include agribusiness, agrotechnology, plantation crop cultivation, palm oil processing technology, and plantation product processing engineering.

BPDP emphasized that the selection results are final and non-appealable, while participant quotas for each study program will be determined later through a separate decree issued by the BPDP President Director.

BPDP President Director Eddy Abdurrachman reiterated the agency’s commitment to integrity and public service quality in supporting plantation stakeholders.

“BPDP remains committed to maintaining integrity and ensuring stakeholder satisfaction in realizing an Integrity Zone toward a Corruption-Free Region,” he stated in the official announcement reviewed by InfoSAWIT on Thursday (May 14, 2026).

The plantation human resources development program has become one of the government’s strategic instruments to support the long-term sustainability of Indonesia’s palm oil industry by preparing competent workers capable of meeting the challenges of a modern and sustainable plantation sector. (T2)
