InfoSAWIT, MEDAN – Fresh palm fruit bunch (FFB) prices in North Sumatra posted a modest increase for the May 6–12, 2026 pricing period, offering a slight uplift for growers amid mixed palm oil market sentiment.
The provincial pricing committee agreed to raise FFB prices for oil palm trees aged 10 to 20 years by Rp 20.94/kg, bringing the benchmark price to Rp 3,906.61/kg.
Data from the North Sumatra Plantation and Livestock Agency showed three-year-old palms were priced at Rp 3,335.50/kg, four years at Rp 3,557.98/kg, five years at Rp 3,679.44/kg, six years at Rp 3,784.86/kg, seven years at Rp 3,743.43/kg, and eight years at Rp 3,879.17/kg.
Prices for mature trees remained strongest, with nine-year-old palms at Rp 3,911.33/kg and the 10–20-year bracket reaching nearly Rp 3,943/kg. Older plantations above 20 years continued to trade at slightly lower levels.
The province also set crude palm oil prices at Rp 15,274.20/kg, while palm kernel prices were fixed at Rp 15,709/kg, with the K index standing at 93.27 percent.
The upward revision reflects regional pricing dynamics and remains an important reference for farmers, although transaction prices at the plantation gate may differ depending on local market realities. (T2)
