PALMEX Jakarta 2026 Drives Digitalization and Innovation in the Palm Oil Industry

InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – The 16th edition of PALMEX Jakarta officially opened on May 6–7, 2026 at Jakarta International Expo (JIEXPO), Kemayoran, bringing together global palm oil stakeholders, technology providers, and investors under the theme “Driving Global Palm Oil Through Innovation and Digital Transformation.”

The international palm oil technology exhibition is designed to accelerate industrial modernization by showcasing innovations in processing, milling, automation, digitalization, and environmental management.

As one of Indonesia’s strategic economic sectors, the palm oil industry continues to contribute significantly to export earnings, regional economic growth, employment creation, and national energy security through the expanding biodiesel program.

Government policy is also increasingly focused on downstream development to generate greater domestic value addition from palm oil derivatives, including food products, oleochemicals, and bioenergy.

According to Indonesia’s Ministry of Agriculture, the country’s palm oil production reached 47.47 million tons in 2024, up 0.83% from the previous year, with nine key producing provinces contributing 86.8% of total national output during 2020–2024.

Fireworks Trade Media Group CEO Kenny Yong said digital transformation is becoming a defining factor in the future competitiveness of the global palm oil industry.

“There is no denying that digitalization has transformed the face of the palm oil industry. PALMEX Jakarta 2026 serves as the right platform to accelerate technology adoption and strengthen Indonesia’s competitiveness in the global market,” he told InfoSAWIT during a press conference on Wednesday (May 6, 2026).

This year’s exhibition features more than 300 technology brands from Asia and Europe and is expected to attract around 7,000 industry professionals, further solidifying PALMEX’s position as one of Southeast Asia’s largest palm oil technology exhibitions. (T2)
