West Sumatra FFB Prices Drop Sharply in Late April

InfoSAWIT, PADANG – Oil palm FFB prices in West Sumatra recorded a significant decline in the final period of April 2026, raising concerns among growers.

The provincial pricing team agreed to set the price for plantations aged 10–20 years at Rp4,049.04/kg, down by Rp119.76/kg for April 22–30, 2026.

Data from the provincial Plantation Agency shows that 3-year-old trees were priced at Rp3,153.53/kg, while 4-year-old trees reached Rp3,339.26/kg. Prices continued upward with age, with 5-year-old trees at Rp3,541.37/kg and 6-year-old trees at Rp3,657.24/kg.

More mature trees, such as those aged 7 and 8 years, were priced at Rp3,807.89/kg and Rp3,952.41/kg respectively. Nine-year-old trees reached Rp4,034.84/kg.

For older plantations, prices gradually declined after the peak range, with 25-year-old trees valued at Rp3,610.04/kg.

CPO prices were set at Rp15,275.35/kg, kernel prices at Rp16,521.90/kg, and shell prices at Rp17.25/kg, with a K index of 93.11%.

The sharper decline compared to other regions suggests stronger downward pressure in West Sumatra, possibly linked to regional supply conditions and logistics. (T2)
