InfoSAWIT, YOGYAKARTA – The Yogyakarta Plantation Education Foundation (YPKPY) has partnered with PT Nusantara Green Energy to develop a Teaching Plant based on Steamless Palm Oil Technology (SPOT), marked by an MoU signing and groundbreaking ceremony at INSTIPER campus.
According to InfoSAWIT, quote an official statement on Tuesday, February 10, the agreement was signed by YPKPY Chairman Dr. Ir. Purwadi and PT Nusantara Green Energy President Director Iman Dermawan.
The collaboration aims to enhance human resource capabilities and provide applied learning facilities for palm oil processing technology.
The SPOT plant will function as a learning factory and research center for sustainable and efficient palm oil processing.
Director Petrus Tjandra explained that SPOT technology uses hot air instead of steam, eliminating the need for boilers and preventing liquid waste generation.
“This makes the system more environmentally friendly and suitable for smallholder-scale operations,” he said.
Dr. Purwadi added that YPKPY will provide land and infrastructure, while the company will supply technology and expertise.
The facility is expected to strengthen INSTIPER’s role as an adaptive educational institution and innovation hub. (T2)
