InfoSAWIT, LAMANDAU – Independent oil palm smallholders in Lamandau, Central Kalimantan, are reaping tangible economic benefits from sustainable practices.

According to InfoSAWIT, citing FORTASBI on Wednesday (April 1, 2026), a total of 506 smallholders under BUMDes Berkah Mulya Jaya received Rp737 million in cash incentives from RSPO credit sales through the Book and Claim scheme in 2025.

BUMDes Chairman Choirul Fuadi said the incentives reflect the farmers’ consistent implementation of sustainable palm oil standards.

“This incentive distribution proves that smallholders’ commitment to sustainability delivers real economic and environmental benefits,” he said.

Total credit sales reached Rp1.74 billion, supported by buyers including Nestlé. The funds were allocated across village revenue, social responsibility programs, operational funds, and environmental conservation.

Notably, Rp15 million was allocated for orangutan conservation and Rp5 million for village forest support, while the largest share—Rp737.3 million—went directly to farmers, marking a 50% increase from the previous year.

Lamandau Vice Regent Abdul Hamid praised the achievement, highlighting its broader impact.

“This incentive is not just economic value—it is recognition of farmers’ commitment to environmental stewardship,” he said. (T2)
