InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – The crude palm oil (CPO) price set by PT Kharisma Pemasaran Bersama Nusantara (KPBN) was recorded at Rp14,700/kg on Wednesday (March 4, 2026), marking an increase of Rp100/kg or about 0.68% compared to Tuesday (March 3, 2026), when the price stood at Rp14,600/kg.
According to information obtained by InfoSAWIT from KPBN, the CPO Franco Belawan & Dumai price was set at Rp14,700/kg. Meanwhile, CPO Franco Teluk Bayur was priced at Rp14,570/kg, and CPO Loco Sei Tapung was set at Rp14,361/kg.
According to Reuters, crude palm oil (CPO) futures on the Bursa Malaysia Derivatives Exchange weakened during Wednesday’s midday trading after reaching a nearly four-week high in the previous session. The decline was driven by profit-taking among traders and weaker prices of competing vegetable oils in the global market.
The benchmark May 2026 CPO futures contract on Bursa Malaysia fell RM32 per ton, or about 0.76%, to RM4,154 per ton during the midday trading break. The decline came after the contract had recorded gains for three consecutive trading sessions.
In other markets, the most active soyoil contract on the Dalian Commodity Exchange rose slightly by around 0.26%, while the palm oil contract on the same exchange slipped 0.04% after earlier falling as much as 0.49% during the session. Meanwhile, soybean oil prices on the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) edged up about 0.11% after previously posting losses earlier in the trading session.
On the demand side, India’s palm oil imports reportedly increased by 10.1% in February, reaching their highest level in six months. The rise was driven by a widening price discount of palm oil compared to rival vegetable oils, prompting refiners in India to boost purchases while reducing sunflower oil imports.
Meanwhile, global crude oil prices rose about 1% on Wednesday, supported by supply disruptions in the Middle East following tensions involving the United States, Israel, and Iran. However, gains were limited after U.S. President Donald Trump raised the possibility that the U.S. Navy could escort vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz.
