LDC Indonesia Strengthens Sustainable Supply Chain, Promotes Regenerative Practices

InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – Louis Dreyfus Company (LDC) Indonesia reaffirmed its commitment to building a sustainable global supply chain by promoting regenerative agricultural practices and soil protection.

The statement was delivered by Rajat Dutt, Country Head of LDC Indonesia, during a media briefing attended by InfoSAWIT in Jakarta on Thursday (February 12, 2026).

Rajat emphasized that LDC ensures the commodities it trades originate from responsible and sustainable practices. The company seeks to implement stable and regenerative standards across product lines wherever feasible, recognizing soil health as the foundation of agricultural productivity.

“We want to ensure that the commodities we manage come from the right practices. Soil protection is key to maintaining productivity and delivering optimal outcomes for all stakeholders in the supply chain,” he said.

According to Rajat, sustainability goes beyond compliance with global standards. It is also about maintaining fair returns for actors at every stage of production. By preserving soil quality and encouraging crop diversification, farmers are expected to achieve better yields and more competitive products.

In its implementation, LDC Indonesia collaborates with the LDC Foundation and local non-governmental organizations to ensure best practices are applied at the field level. The partnership focuses on community assistance in sourcing regions, capacity building for farmers, and monitoring sustainability compliance.

Through this approach, LDC aims to strengthen Indonesia’s position as a leading global commodity supplier while ensuring farmers’ welfare remains integral to a sustainable supply chain. (T2)
