InfoSAWIT, KARACHI — Indonesia and Pakistan reaffirmed their strategic partnership through the Indonesia Palm Oil Networking Reception held in Karachi on Friday (January 9), marking 75 years of diplomatic relations.
The event, organized by the Indonesian Consulate General in Karachi and Gabungan Pengusaha Kelapa Sawit Indonesia (GAPKI), underscored palm oil’s role as a pillar of bilateral economic cooperation.
GAPKI Chairman Eddy Martono said Indonesia remains a stable and responsible palm oil supplier to Pakistan, which sources nearly 90 percent of its palm oil imports from Indonesia.
Three cooperation agreements were signed, including the establishment of an Indonesia–Pakistan Joint Trade Commission and sectoral MoUs between GAPKI and Pakistani industry associations to strengthen supply chains and price stability. (T2)
