REA Kaltim Plantations Distributes 33 Christmas Livestock to 10 Villages in East Kalimantan

InfoSAWIT, KUTAI KARTANEGARA — To celebrate Christmas 2025, PT REA Kaltim Plantations (REA) once again demonstrated its commitment to surrounding communities by distributing 33 pigs as Christmas livestock to 10 villages across Kembang Janggut and Tabang sub-districts, Kutai Kartanegara Regency, East Kalimantan.

The initiative aligns with Indonesia’s 2025 National Christmas theme, “God Is Present to Save the Family,” which emphasizes togetherness, compassion, and social solidarity. The distribution process proceeded smoothly and was warmly welcomed by village authorities and beneficiary communities.

REA Smallholder & Community Development Manager Dian Mayasari said Christmas represents an important moment that embodies values of peace and social harmony—principles that resonate with the company’s commitment to building long-term, mutually beneficial relationships with local communities.

“Christmas is deeply rooted in values of peace and togetherness. Through this Christmas livestock distribution, REA seeks to remain present alongside the community while strengthening the harmonious relationships we have built,” Dian said in an official statement to InfoSAWIT on Monday (December 29, 2025).

She added that the initiative goes beyond ceremonial assistance and reflects the company’s efforts to respect local traditions, particularly religious celebrations that hold deep significance for local residents.

The Christmas livestock program is part of REA’s Empowering Livelihoods pillar, which focuses on enhancing socio-economic resilience and community welfare around the company’s operational areas. Through community-based approaches tailored to local needs and wisdom, REA aims to strengthen social cohesion and sustainable livelihoods.

“We believe sustainability is not only about the environment, but also about growing together with communities. Initiatives like this help ensure the company’s presence delivers tangible benefits,” Dian explained. (T2)
