InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA — Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto reaffirmed the government’s strong commitment to combating the plunder of state assets during the handover of recovered state funds worth more than Rp6.6 trillion, achieved through the work of the Forest Area Control Task Force (Satgas PKH) at the Attorney General’s Office on Wednesday (24/12/2025).
In his address, Prabowo described the occasion as both an honor and a personal source of pride. He stated that the trillions of rupiah recovered were the result of coordinated efforts across institutions since the task force was established on 21 January 2025, under Presidential Regulation No. 5 of 2025.
“This is tangible proof of your hard work. Rp6.6 trillion is not a small figure, but I emphasize that this is only the beginning,” Prabowo said before law enforcement officials and representatives of relevant ministries.
The President revealed that the task force has also succeeded in reclaiming more than 4 million hectares of forest areas that had long been unmanaged, illegally utilized, or in violation of the law by corporations and other parties. He acknowledged the challenges faced in the field, including resistance and intimidation.
Prabowo extended special appreciation to the Attorney General’s Office, National Police, Armed Forces, Ministry of Environment and Forestry, BPKP, and all institutions involved. He stressed that from the start of his presidency, he has been determined to fight long-standing practices of state asset looting.
He also warned that potential state losses could be far greater if all violations were fully calculated, with fines potentially reaching hundreds of trillions of rupiah. The recovered Rp6.6 trillion, he noted, could renovate around 6,000 schools, build 100,000 permanent homes for displaced communities, or fund disaster response and tax obligations.
Closing his speech, Prabowo encouraged members of Satgas PKH and law enforcement officials to remain steadfast. “You are patriots, standing at the forefront of justice and the protection of Indonesia’s forests and national wealth,” he concluded. (T2)
