In the international market, crude palm oil futures on the Bursa Malaysia Derivatives Exchange moved higher on Monday, supported by stronger export data, bargain buying, and rising global crude oil prices that lifted overall market sentiment, according to Reuters.
The benchmark palm oil contract for March 2026 delivery gained RM58 per ton, or 1.49%, to RM3,963 per metric ton by the midday trading break.
From a fundamental perspective, export performance provided the main support for prices. Cargo surveyor Intertek Testing Services (ITS) estimated that Malaysian palm oil product exports for the period of December 1–20 rose 2.4% compared with the same period a month earlier. Market participants were also awaiting export data from AmSpec Agri Malaysia, expected to be released later the same day.
In related markets, Dalian’s most-active soyoil contract edged up 0.03%, while its palm oil contract slipped 0.36%. Meanwhile, soyoil prices on the Chicago Board of Trade rose 0.5%.
