Indonesia, Belarus Strengthen Agricultural Cooperation as Minister Amran Pushes CPO to Cocoa Exports

InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA — Indonesian Agriculture Minister Andi Amran Sulaiman met with Belarusian Foreign Minister Maxim Ryzhenkov in Jakarta on Monday (5/8) to discuss deepening agricultural cooperation, particularly in opening new market opportunities for Indonesia’s key commodities.

Amran emphasized the need to boost exports of five strategic products to Belarus — crude palm oil (CPO), coffee, cocoa, coconut, and rubber. “This meeting was very positive. We are pushing exports of strategic commodities such as CPO, coffee, cocoa, coconut, and rubber. This is important to improve our trade balance,” he said, as quoted from the Ministry of Agriculture’s official Facebook page on Sunday (10/8/2025).

He noted that Indonesia is the world’s leading CPO producer and the second-largest coconut producer, positioning Belarus as a promising strategic partner for downstream agricultural products. “This is a mutually beneficial relationship. So far, we have imported milk from Belarus, and there are plans to import butter and meat. But we also want to export our products there to balance the trade,” Amran added.

According to Amran, Belarus has welcomed the initiative and expressed readiness to facilitate the promotion of Indonesian agricultural products in its market — a move expected to accelerate market penetration and strengthen bilateral trade ties. (T2)
