InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA — President Prabowo Subianto emphasized the importance of implementing Article 33 of the 1945 Constitution as a foundation for social justice and a key to improving the welfare of the people. This was stated during the 27th Anniversary of the National Awakening Party (PKB) in Jakarta on Wednesday (July 23).

In his speech, President Prabowo questioned the logic behind the scarcity of several essential goods in a country that is a major producer of these commodities. “Rice, corn, cooking oil—these all concern the basic needs of the people. Indonesia is the world’s largest producer of palm oil, but why can cooking oil disappear from the market?” he asked critically, as reported by InfoSAWIT on Thursday (July 24, 2025).

He referred to the phenomenon of cooking oil scarcity as something illogical and accused the economic practices of not being in favor of the people. “I keep searching, what kind of business school is this? This is not a free market, not pure capitalism—this is a greedy school,” he asserted.

With a hint of sarcasm, the President even suggested that universities in Indonesia should open new fields of study. “Please open a field of study on economic greed or ‘serkahnomic.’ Because this has surpassed common sense,” he quipped.

Prabowo stressed that Indonesia's economic thinking must return to the spirit of Article 33 of the 1945 Constitution, where the branches of production that are vital for the state and affect the livelihood of many must be controlled by the state for the prosperity of the people.

In closing his speech, Prabowo expressed his hope that PKB would continue to be a strategic partner in nation-building while extending birthday wishes to the party symbolized by the nine-pointed star. “Fortunately, PKB is with me. Let’s continue this struggle,” he concluded. (T2)
