InfoSAWIT, TULANG BAWANG – Efforts to enhance the welfare of palm oil farmers and promote the development of the plantation sector continue to be a priority for the Tulang Bawang Regency Government. This was evident when Regent Qudrotul Ikhwan received a delegation from the Central Leadership Council (DPP) of the Bumi Betuah Palm Oil Farmers Association on Tuesday in his office.

During the meeting, both parties discussed the potential for synergy between the local government and palm oil farmer groups. The main focus was on increasing production yields, strengthening farmer institutions, and creating a healthier and more sustainable business climate in the Tulang Bawang region.

Regent Qudrotul welcomed the visit from DPP PPS Bumi Betuah and reaffirmed the government's commitment to collaborating with various stakeholders, especially farmers, to build a resilient plantation sector.

"We are open to aspirations and input from farmers. The presence of organizations like the Bumi Betuah Palm Oil Farmers Association is a crucial part of agricultural development, particularly in the palm oil sector," Qudrotul stated, as quoted by InfoSAWIT from KBRN RRI on Sunday (June 8, 2025).

Meanwhile, representatives from DPP PPS Bumi Betuah expressed several aspirations, including the need for intensive support for smallholder palm oil farmers, easier access to markets, and strengthening the institutional capacity of farmers to become more independent and professional.

The meeting took place in a constructive atmosphere filled with collaborative spirit. Both parties agreed that the cooperation established needs to be followed up with tangible programs on the ground, so that the impacts can be directly felt by the farmers.

With a strong synergy between the government and farmer organizations, it is hoped that the palm oil sector in Tulang Bawang can continue to develop sustainably while improving the welfare of the local community. (T2)
