InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – Izzana Salleh officially assumed her role as the Secretary-General of the Council of Palm Oil Producing Countries (CPOPC), reaffirming the organization’s commitment to a fair and sustainable global palm oil industry.

In her online address at the CPOPC press conference held on Wednesday (May 28, 2025) in Jakarta, Izzana expressed her gratitude to former leaders who laid a strong foundation for the organization. “I extend my deepest appreciation to the previous leadership for establishing a solid base and ensuring a smooth transition,” she said.

Outlining a medium-term vision for 2025–2028, Izzana pledged to strengthen the role of member countries in global sustainability efforts and elevate their strategic position in the discourse on future energy and climate resilience.

“We will advocate for palm oil producers, promote fair and science-based production standards, and share best practices globally,” she explained. Izzana emphasized that CPOPC’s approach is rooted in the belief that responsibly produced palm oil is a force for good.

“This industry supports the livelihoods of millions of farmers, enhances food and energy security, and contributes to climate solutions through innovation and research,” she noted.

She also underscored the importance of transparent stakeholder collaboration and strategic dialogue. “CPOPC is ready to lead with integrity, purpose, and unity. We invite sincere and open partnerships to shape a better future,” she concluded.

Izzana also thanked those who supported the leadership transition and reaffirmed CPOPC’s readiness for future collaborations.
