Billion-Rupiah Project from BPDP to Flow into Kapuas Hulu: Here Are the 3 Lucky Cooperatives

InfoSAWIT, KAPUAS HULU — Efforts to improve the productivity of smallholder oil palm plantations in Kapuas Hulu Regency continue to receive attention. On Monday (19/5), the Agriculture and Food Agency of Kapuas Hulu Regency held a Socialization Event on Oil Palm Plantation Infrastructure and Facilities at Belian Club House PT Paramitra Internusa Pratama (PIP), Nanga Seberuang Village, Semitau District.

The event featured Erita Fitriani, Head of the Infrastructure, Facilities, and Plantation Protection Division of the West Kalimantan Provincial Plantation Agency, as the main speaker. Also in attendance were representatives from three cooperatives, PT PIP management, as well as representatives from PT Kartika Prima Cipta and PT Persada Graha Mandiri, all under the Sinar Mas Group.

In her presentation, Erita explained that there are eight types of infrastructure and facility programs that can be facilitated through funding from the Oil Palm Plantation Fund Management Agency (BPDP). These programs include, Extensification (seeds, fertilizers, pesticides); Intensification; Provision of post-harvest tools and processing units; Construction of plantation roads and access to public roads/ports; Transportation equipment; Agricultural machinery; Market infrastructure; Technical verification for ISPO certification.

This year, Kapuas Hulu Regency proposed an intensification program for three cooperatives, First, Koperasi Mitra Puyang Gana in Semitau Hilir Village (PT PIP), covering 1,023.62 hectares with 285 farmers. Secondly, Koperasi Mitra Bintang Moga in Penai Village, Silat Hilir District (PT Persada Graha Mandiri), covering 1,061.38 hectares with 328 farmers. And third, Koperasi Mitra Cipta Sejahtera in Nanga Suhaid Village, Suhaid District (PT Kartika Prima Cipta).

These three cooperatives will receive full support from Sinar Mas Group, particularly in completing administrative documents and fulfilling technical requirements, such as aerial documentation using drones.

“Corporate support is crucial to ensure the proposal process to BPDP runs smoothly and on time,” said Erita, as reported by InfoSAWIT from the Facebook page of the West Kalimantan Plantation Agency on Monday (26/5/2025). She emphasized that accelerating the intensification proposal is key so that smallholder oil palm farmers can quickly benefit from improved production facilities and better plantation management.

This event is part of a joint commitment between local governments, companies, and farmer institutions to promote productive, sustainable, and nationally certified oil palm plantations. (T2)
