InfoSAWIT, ACEH TAMIANG – Aceh Polytechnic conducted monitoring visits (May 21–22, 2025) for students receiving the Palm Oil Human Resource (HR) Scholarship during their industrial internship at PT Socfin Indonesia’s palm oil mill in Aceh Tamiang.
Three mechatronics students are among 29 scholarship recipients (2023 batch) placed at 13 palm oil companies nationwide. The visits evaluated learning progress and readiness for the technically demanding palm oil industry.
Aceh Polytechnic representatives Muhammad Abthahi and Sofyan Ferdhian discussed training, technical skills, and workplace adaptation with students and company officials.
PT Socfin Assistant Manager Santo D. Siringoringo praised the students’ contributions, emphasizing the need for hard skills, soft skills, and work ethic to meet industry demands.
The Polytechnic stressed that industrial internships are key to vocational education, requiring students to apply mechatronics in automation and machine maintenance for the evolving palm oil sector.
Funded by BPDPKS, the scholarship aims to produce skilled young professionals supporting Indonesia’s sustainable palm oil industry.
Aceh Polytechnic also promoted the 2025 Palm Oil HR Scholarship, which offers 4,000 slots across 41 institutions. The Polytechnic will host 150 new students under this scheme.
Such industry-education collaborations are vital for producing graduates ready for Industry 4.0 challenges. (T2)
