InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – Crude palm oil (CPO) prices set by PT Kharisma Pemasaran Bersama Nusantara (KPBN) rose on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, reaching Rp15,158 per kilogram, up Rp108/kg, or 0.72%, from Rp15,050/kg on Monday, October 19.
According to KPBN information obtained by InfoSAWIT, the Franco Dumai CPO price was set at Rp15,158/kg, while the FOB Talang Duku price reached Rp14,908/kg. The Franco Teluk Bayur price stood at Rp14,958/kg.
Meanwhile, Malaysian palm oil futures strengthened, trading around RM4,800 per tonne after recent weakness. The recovery was supported by gains in vegetable oil prices on China's Dalian Commodity Exchange and improving export demand prospects.
According to Trading Economics, Malaysian palm oil exports surged during the first half of October. Cargo surveyors reported shipment increases ranging from 43.2% to 58.3% compared with the same period in the previous month. Demand from India, a major palm oil importer, ahead of religious festivals also contributed to the firmer market sentiment.
Indonesia's decision to raise its October CPO reference price by 3.44% to US$1,042.15 per tonne provided additional market context. Meanwhile, elevated global crude oil prices supported palm oil's competitiveness as a biodiesel feedstock.
Supply concerns also underpinned prices, as Indonesia's planned B50 biodiesel mandate could increase domestic palm oil consumption. Potential El Niño impacts have raised further concerns about production prospects.
However, gains remained constrained by abundant supplies. Malaysian palm oil inventories climbed to a record 3.51 million tonnes in September, reflecting higher output during the seasonal peak production period.
