Indonesia’s KPBN CPO Prices Rise 1.18% as Malaysian Palm Oil Futures Extend Gains

InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA — Indonesia’s crude palm oil (CPO) prices at PT Kharisma Pemasaran Bersama Nusantara (KPBN) rose on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, while Malaysian palm oil futures extended their rally for a third consecutive session, supported by stronger export demand.

KPBN set its CPO price at Rp14,950 per kilogram, up Rp175/kg, or 1.18%, from Rp14,775/kg on Tuesday, October 13, 2026.

According to information obtained by InfoSAWIT from KPBN, the Franco Dumai price was set at Rp14,950/kg. FOB Talang Duku was priced at Rp14,700/kg, while Franco Teluk Bayur reached Rp14,750/kg.

The strength in Indonesia’s domestic market coincided with gains in Malaysia’s palm oil futures market, where improving export performance provided support to prices.

Cargo surveyor Amspec Agri Malaysia reported that Malaysian palm oil exports increased 37.73% to 491,954 tonnes during October 1–10, 2026, compared with 357,194 tonnes in the corresponding period in September.

Intertek Testing Services reported an even higher export volume of 525,071 tonnes, representing a 33.51% increase from 393,295 tonnes a month earlier.

However, Malaysia’s palm oil inventories continued to expand. The Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB) reported that total stocks rose 24.54% in September to 3.51 million tonnes, up from 2.82 million tonnes in August.

According to Bernama, October 2026 CPO futures on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives gained RM29 to RM4,427 per tonne. November futures edged up RM1 to RM4,560 per tonne, while December contracts increased RM18 to RM4,700 per tonne.

Further along the curve, January 2027 futures rose RM23 to RM4,810 per tonne. February contracts gained RM25 to RM4,900 per tonne, and March futures advanced RM18 to RM4,978 per tonne.

Trading activity also strengthened, with volume increasing to 124,058 lots from 109,117 lots in the previous session. Open interest rose to 335,045 contracts from 331,818 contracts.

Meanwhile, physical CPO for October delivery in Malaysia’s southern region gained RM30 to RM4,500 per tonne.

The latest price movements highlight the competing forces shaping the palm oil market: stronger export demand is supporting prices, while rising inventories remain an important factor to watch.
