KPBN CPO Tender Ends in Withdrawal as Malaysian Palm Oil Futures Close Higher

InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – Crude palm oil (CPO) trading at PT Kharisma Pemasaran Bersama Nusantara (KPBN) recorded a withdrawal (WD) on Friday, June 19, 2026, despite higher bid prices compared with the previous session.

The highest offer for CPO reached Rp15,358/kg, up Rp23/kg or approximately 0.15% from Thursday’s highest bid of Rp15,335/kg.

According to data obtained by InfoSAWIT from KPBN, the Franco Dumai tender opened at Rp15,600/kg but was withdrawn after the highest bid reached Rp15,358/kg. Similarly, the FOB Talang Duku tender opened at Rp15,400/kg and was withdrawn with a top offer of Rp15,111/kg, while the FOB Teluk Bayur tender opened at Rp15,470/kg and ended in withdrawal after receiving a highest bid of Rp15,170/kg.

Meanwhile, palm oil futures on the Bursa Malaysia Derivatives Exchange closed higher on Friday, extending gains and ending the week on a positive note. Market sentiment was supported by concerns over global vegetable oil supplies and escalating geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, which pushed energy prices higher.

The July 2026 CPO contract surged RM84 to close at RM4,594 per tonne, while the August contract rose RM78 to RM4,622 per tonne. September futures gained RM73 to settle at RM4,646 per tonne.

Further along the curve, October 2026 futures increased RM65 to RM4,668 per tonne, November contracts advanced RM61 to RM4,689 per tonne, and December futures climbed RM52 to RM4,710 per tonne.

The price rally reflects continued optimism over palm oil’s near-term outlook amid tightening supply expectations and volatility in global energy markets.

Despite the stronger prices, trading activity eased. Daily volume fell to 76,763 lots from 91,261 lots recorded in the previous session. However, market participation remained firm, with open interest edging up to 287,112 contracts, compared with 286,986 contracts previously.

In the physical market, Southern Malaysia’s June-delivery CPO price rose by RM50 to RM4,560 per tonne.
