InfoSAWIT, PADANG – Fresh palm fruit bunch (FFB) prices in West Sumatra declined during the first pricing period of May 2026, reflecting softer market conditions in the upstream palm oil sector.
Based on the official pricing team’s decision for the May 1–7, 2026 period, the price of FFB from oil palm trees aged 10 to 20 years was set at Rp 4,003.75 per kilogram, down Rp 45.29/kg from the previous period.
According to data compiled by InfoSAWIT from the West Sumatra Plantation, Food Crops and Horticulture Agency, FFB prices varied according to tree age. Palms aged three years were priced at Rp 3,123.31/kg, four years at Rp 3,305.97/kg, five years at Rp 3,505.32/kg, six years at Rp 3,619.84/kg, seven years at Rp 3,767.25/kg, and eight years at Rp 3,909.51/kg.
For older palms, nine-year-old trees were set at Rp 3,990.31/kg, while the benchmark 10–20-year category stood at Rp 4,003.75/kg. Trees aged 21 years were priced at Rp 3,841.54/kg, 22 years at Rp 3,836.09/kg, 23 years at Rp 3,779.22/kg, 24 years at Rp 3,605.32/kg, and 25 years at Rp 3,569.21/kg.
Meanwhile, the province set crude palm oil (CPO) prices at Rp 15,239.52/kg, palm kernel prices at Rp 15,838.65/kg, and shell prices at Rp 17.25/kg, with the K index recorded at 93.11 percent.
The pricing serves as a regional benchmark for growers and millers, though actual field transactions may vary depending on quality, logistics, and local market conditions. (T2)
