InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – Palm oil exports decreased just like crude palm oil (CPO) production did. Indonesian Palm Oil Association (IPOA) reported that palm oil exports from Indonesia in 2022 could be only 30,803 million tons or smaller than it in 2021 which reached 33,674 million tons.
Chairman of IPOA, Joko Supriyono said the decreasing exports in 2022 happened in the past four years in a row. But the values of palm oil exports (CPO, the processing products, and its derivatives) in 2022 got more expensive that reached US$ 39,28 billion if compared to 2021 exports that reached US$ 35,5 billion.
“It happened for palm oil products were relatively more expensive than those in 2021,” he said in a press conference “Kinerja Industri Sawit 2022” which InfoSAWIT attended at Hotel Sahid, Jakarta, Wednesday (25/1/2023).
IPOA also revealed that ten palm oil exporter countries from Indonesia were China, India, USA, Pakistan, Malaysia, Netherland, Bangladesh, Egypt, Russia, and Italy Italia. USA got increasing level from 5 in 2020 to be the third rank as palm oil importer in 2022 from Indonesia.
Palm oil stock in Indonesia could be 3,658 million tons. Based on production and consumption level, Joko continued, it needs to solve the 2022 issues that could postpone the increasing production because everything could influence palm oil industrial work in 2023. The production could not be increasing. “While the domestic consumption could be increasing because of the implementation of B35 on 1 February 2023,” Joko said. (T2)
