KPBN CPO Price Rises to Rp15,835/kg as Malaysian Palm Oil Futures Strengthen

InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – Crude palm oil (CPO) prices offered by PT Kharisma Pemasaran Bersama Nusantara (KPBN) moved higher on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, reaching Rp15,835 per kilogram for CPO delivered Franco Dumai.

The latest price represented an increase of Rp135 per kilogram, or approximately 0.86%, compared with Rp15,700 per kilogram recorded on Friday, August 14.

Based on information obtained by InfoSAWIT from KPBN, CPO Franco Dumai was set at Rp15,835 per kilogram. Meanwhile, the FOB Talang Duku tender opened at Rp15,585 per kilogram but was withdrawn, with the highest offer reaching Rp15,539 per kilogram.

CPO Franco Teluk Bayur was priced at Rp15,635 per kilogram.

The strengthening domestic market came as Malaysian palm oil futures continued their upward trend, remaining above MYR4,800 per tonne and reaching their highest level since early April.

The rally was supported by stronger prices for competing vegetable oils in global markets, including Dalian and Chicago, while higher crude oil prices also added support to palm oil sentiment.

Market attention has also turned to developments in the Middle East, where fading prospects for a near-term resolution to the conflict have raised concerns over potential disruptions to global energy supplies. Higher energy prices can support palm oil demand, particularly because of the commodity's close relationship with the biodiesel sector.

However, gains in Malaysian palm oil prices were partly limited by the strengthening ringgit, which can make Malaysian palm oil more expensive for overseas buyers using other currencies.

Export indicators from Malaysia have meanwhile presented mixed signals. Intertek Testing Services estimated that Malaysian palm oil product shipments during the first half of August declined by 7.9% compared with the previous period.

In contrast, cargo surveyor AmSpec Agri Malaysia reported a 3.2% increase in shipments over the same period, highlighting continued uncertainty over the pace of export demand.
