MEDAN – The family of DL Sitorus asked the High Attorney to cancel the execution plan to 47 thousands hectares palm oil plantations which PT Torganda (the company belongs to DL Sitorus) runs for such a long time in the Forest Register 40, District of North Padang Lawas, North Sumatera Province.
The family spokesman, Sihar Sitorus said, the reason why the family asked to cancel the execution is that there is no clear data about the area borders of the legal action, between The Villagers Cooperation Bukit Harapan/PT Torganda and Ministry of Forestry in the region. Sihar thought, until now, the Ministry of Forestry does not have the border map which covers the Register 40.
Sihar also mentioned, DL Sitorus does not have the area/land about 47 thousands hectares which are about to be executed. The connection between DL Sitorus and the 47 thousands hectares is just to give modal help to thousands farmers who want to plant palm oil in the area. “The system is that when the farmers have their harvest, they should sell the harvest through Villagers Cooperation Bukit Harapan to PT Torganda,” Sihar said, Thursday (21/5) as quoted from Medan Bisnis.
Sihar continued, based on the facts, DL Sitorus really does not have the area. But legally, DL Sitorus was accused by two things, they are, changing the protected forest to be plantation and making illegal logging.
Based on the charges, Sihar mentioned, DL Sitorus was found guilty and sentenced to eight years in jail and fined, plus subsidiary which had been paid to the state. While the charge about the corruption, there was no state’s loss.
It is rumored, the High Attorney will run the administrative executions to PT Torganda – the management of the company will be handled by PT Inhutani, a State Enterprices which the government has pointed. (T2)
