Poltek Sawit CWE Graduates Told Integrity and Physical Readiness Matter in Plantation Careers

InfoSAWIT, BEKASI – An academic degree alone is not enough to succeed in the palm oil industry, as graduates also need integrity, professional ethics, continuous learning and physical readiness to meet the demands of plantation work.

The message was delivered by Chairman of the Citra Widya Edukasi Foundation Board, retired Major General TNI Dr. Djanadi Bimo Prakoso, MPA, M.Sc., during the graduation ceremony of the fourth cohort of Applied Bachelor graduates and 18th cohort of Associate Degree graduates of Politeknik Kelapa Sawit Citra Widya Edukasi (Poltek Sawit CWE) in Bekasi on Sunday, September 27, 2026.

Djanadi introduced what he described as a “100% success formula,” consisting of three elements: 50% dedication, hard work, team integrity and continuous learning; 30% intellectual ability based on moral and ethical values; and 20% physical fitness.

Integrity and Continuous Learning

According to Djanadi, half of professional success depends on how individuals approach their work and develop professional attitudes.

Dedication, perseverance and teamwork are essential when entering the workplace, he said, while integrity must remain the foundation, including a commitment to reject corruption, collusion and nepotism.

Graduates were also encouraged to become lifelong learners. Rapid technological developments and changing industry requirements mean that knowledge gained during college must continue to be updated.

“Be someone who keeps learning and gets used to recording every process and lesson as a form of accuracy and professionalism,” Djanadi told the graduates.

Physical Fitness for Plantation Work

Intellectual ability accounts for another 30% of the formula, but Djanadi emphasized that professional knowledge should be accompanied by ethical values and a commitment to contribute to society.

The remaining 20% relates to physical fitness. For plantation workers, stamina and physical endurance can be important because many responsibilities are performed in field conditions.

The physical benchmarks cited included running 3.2 kilometers in 14 minutes, completing 45 push-ups in two minutes and 45 sit-ups in two minutes.

The message underscored the importance of combining technical competence, integrity, adaptability and physical readiness as graduates begin their careers in the palm oil industry. (T2)
