InfoSAWIT, PANGKALPINANG – The Forest Area Management Task Force (Satgas PKH) conducted a working visit to the Bangka Belitung Islands Province (Babel) on Tuesday (30/9/2025). The team was directly welcomed by Babel Governor Hidayat Arsani, along with the Regional Communication Forum (Forkopimda) and several related parties, in a coordination meeting held at the Babel High Prosecutor's Office.
The Satgas PKH visit was carried out as a follow-up to various reports received regarding issues in tin trade governance and palm oil management in the Babel region. Governor Hidayat Arsani welcomed the step, emphasizing that the main purpose of the Task Force's presence is not repressive action but systemic improvement.
“This Tin Task Force did not come to conduct raids as imagined, but to improve the tin system to be better and more transparent,” Hidayat said, quoted by InfoSAWIT from the Babel Regional Government on Monday (6/10/2025).
He added that the Task Force is expected to bring direct benefits to the community. By regulating the tin Mining Business Permit (IUP) area according to regulations, residents are expected to be able to work more safely and prosperously. “Protect the tin IUPs in accordance with the provisions. The tin area must be guarded by the Task Force, and it is the local government's duty to regulate its community,” the Governor asserted.
In addition to holding a coordination meeting, the Satgas PKH also inspected a smelter that had been previously seized during the investigation process. The Babel Provincial Government hopes this visit will be a moment to rearrange the mining system to comply with regulations, guarantee reclamation, and contribute to state and local revenue (PAD).
Beyond focusing on mining, the Satgas PKH visit also addressed issues in the palm oil sector. The Chairman of the Babel Regional House of Representatives (DPRD), Didit Srigusjaya, revealed that two main issues were discussed: palm oil governance and trade governance. (T2)
