Meanwhile, according to Reuters, palm oil futures trading on the Malaysian exchange rebounded on Wednesday (10/1/2025), following three consecutive sessions of decline. The increase was driven by bargain hunting at lower price levels and expectations of a production slowdown in the coming months.
The benchmark contract for December 2025 delivery on the Bursa Malaysia Derivatives Exchange closed up RM38 per ton (0.87%), settling at RM4,390 (US$1,044) per ton.
In related markets, soybean oil prices on the Chicago Board of Trade also rose by 0.38%, supporting the strengthening trend in global vegetable oil prices. Note that the Dalian Commodity Exchange in China will remain closed for its national holiday from October 1–8, with trading resuming on October 9.
