Luwu Timur Sends Palm Oil Human Resources Training Participants to Makassar, Encouraging Farmers to Become Entrepreneurs

InfoSAWIT, LUWU TIMUR – The Luwu Timur District Government officially released participants of the 2025 Palm Oil Human Resources (HR) Training, held in collaboration with the Plantation Fund Management Agency (BPDP) and LPP Agro Nusantara Yogyakarta.

The release event took place at the Luwu Timur Education and Culture Office Auditorium on Sunday, led by Development Expert Staff Rapiuddin Tahir, representing the Luwu Timur Regent.

In his remarks, Rapiuddin expressed appreciation for the support of all parties involved in organizing this training. He emphasized that this training program is a concrete step to enhance the capacity and competitiveness of farmers, extension workers, and stakeholders in the palm oil sector in the region.

“I, on behalf of the Luwu Timur Regent, extend my highest appreciation to all parties who have supported the implementation of the palm oil HR training,” Rapiuddin stated, as reported by InfoSAWIT from the Luwu Timur Government on Monday, July 21, 2025.

The training will be held over ten days, from July 21 to 30, 2025, at Hotel Claro Makassar. The curriculum includes enhancing technical knowledge, strengthening professionalism, and developing an entrepreneurial mindset.

“This is not just a technical training; it is also a platform to cultivate an entrepreneurial mindset—how farmers can elevate their status and become successful entrepreneurs in the palm oil sector,” Rapiuddin asserted.

As a leading commodity in Luwu Timur, the palm oil sector is considered strategically important for driving local economic growth. Through this training, the government hopes to produce human resources that are not only skilled in the field but also proficient in modern management and governance.

“Palm oil is one of the essential economic drivers in Luwu Timur. Therefore, through this training, we hope participants can gain a thorough understanding of modern and sustainable palm oil plantation management,” he added.

This training is part of the local government's and national partners' efforts to encourage the transformation of the palm oil sector from mere production activities to an inclusive and competitive agribusiness model. (T2)
